a-kaza has been thought as a response to a very challenging moment in architecture due to changes in aesthetics, new materials and technologies, energetic and ecological issues while facing a strong economical crisis.

The architect Stratos Pantavos, a graduate from the Polytechnical School of Milano (1979), gave birth to this project. He previously worked with several architect studios in Italy and moved back to Greece in 1985. He is specialized in houses and professional spaces. a-kaza is the natural evolution of a 25 year experience in the field of architecture.

The economical crisis forces us to reconsider several issues that we considered solved. We approach this situation as a new opportunity among the present difficulties. More than ever we shall emphasize the following principles:

- close analysis of client's requirements and taste,
- precise budget definition,
- very detailed project and well defined schedule,
- consider new materials and technologies that may contribute to match final cost and running expenses,
- select proper partners and craftsmen,
- tight project management during the execution phase (late project modifications are expensive).
We didn't discover anything new, but very often these parameters are overlooked while the working. Building a house requires a strong synergy among the players: client, engineers, builders. The quality of this blend determines the result.

a-kaza is based in Athens, embedded in the "Studio 265", a group of architects, engineers and designers, and operates in the Athens area and the surrounding greek islands.
